This summer Felt Faction organizes two joyful workshops on 29.7.-5.8.2021. Workshops are held in Orimattila, Finland. Wokshop places are filled in sign up order. Registration time ends 1.5.2021.

Huopakuiskaajan Tötterökurssi 29.7.-1.8.2021

4 Days, price 360€ (includes teaching and accommodation)

Assistant teacher: Oona Jakku

On this workshop you’ll learn Elina’s felting techniques in a fun way. You’ll create (1-3) small spectacular wall pieces where you combine buttons, craters, hörhös, lace pieces and nunos. Final work is hat where you combine some of the techniques learned at the beginning of the workshop.
This workshop is very practical “technique” workshop which is great for beginners as well as for the experienced felt makers. We’ll go through the materials and techniques very thoroughly. Prepare for intense felt making, laughter and wonderful unique felt designs!
Materials: You’ll use Felt Faction’s unique needlefelts, same as Elina uses in her own designs. All the materials needed are sold on the workshop venue. In addition to the Elina’s hand dyed materials there will be some extra treats for you! You can take a look at Elina’s Youtube channel for more material info and felting instructions.

On this workshop you’ll learn Elina’s way of hand dyeing her needle felts and you’ll create beautiful felted clothes combining the needle felts and lace pieces.
Participants dye materials with Elina for the clothes made at the workshop and sew them with Oona before felting. Last days of the workshop will be intense felting days and as a reward participants will have a pile of unique hand dyed and felted clothes. Felt Faction -team wants you to know that the dyeing happens as Elina is used to do it (outside and without any specific measurements) and because we are not professional seamstresses we have made our own simple patterns for the clothes. On this workshop you’ll dye and sew clothes from needle felts first and felt them after.
Materials: You’ll use Felt Faction’s unique needle felts, same as Elina uses in her own designs. You’ll mainly use Pikkukarhu, Jääkarhu and lace pieces. Dyeing: industrial wool dyes (acid dyes)
